Last updated November 2026. This explains what information Dayaka collects and how it's used.
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and mobile number. If you set up a Recipient or Patron profile, we additionally collect the details needed to run that profile — contact details, the project or objective description, and (for Recipients) bank account details used to receive support. Documents you upload to satisfy a Required Document are also stored against your account.
Dayaka never handles or requests Patron funds for its own use. We don't collect payment card details or bank login credentials — support is sent directly, bank-to-bank, between a Patron and a Recipient's Self Help Group.
A Recipient's project, objective, and (once you are a verified Patron) contact and bank details are shown so that support can be sent directly and safely. A Patron who chooses to remain anonymous is shown publicly only by a patron number, never by name. A contribution's amount, note, and date are shown on the relevant project's "Support Received To-Date" list; proof-of-transfer attachments are never public — only you and our verifying staff can view them.
Recipient profiles, Patron profiles, and contributions are reviewed by staff before they're relied on elsewhere on the site (for example, before a Patron's contribution counts toward a project's total). Edits to an already-verified profile are held separately until they too are reviewed, so what's shown publicly is always something staff have checked.
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. If you use the language switcher in the navigation, a
googtrans cookie is set so Google Translate remembers your chosen language; that translation is
provided by Google and is not something we control.
Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. Uploaded files (proof of transfer, required documents) are stored outside the public web folder and served only to the account owner and authorised staff.
